چکیده

[1] Fifteen chemistry-transport models are used to quantify, for the first time, the export of oxidised nitrogen (NOy) to and from four regions (Europe, North America, South Asia, and East Asia), and to estimate the uncertainty in the results. Between 12 and 24% of the NOx emitted is exported from each region annually. The strongest impact of each source region on a foreign region is: Europe on East Asia, North America on Europe, South Asia on East Asia, and East Asia on North America. Europe exports the most NOy, and East Asia the least. East Asia receives the most NOy from the other regions. Between 8 and 15% of NOx emitted in each region is transported over distances larger than 1000 km, with 3–10% ultimately deposited over the foreign regions. Citation: Sanderson, M. G., et al. Micro Particles Transport and Deposition in Realistic Geometry of Human Upper Airways

Realistic geometry of human upper airways from mouth to the end of trachea was reconstructed by implementing the CT-Scan images of a male subject.   A computational model for analyzing the airflow in the airways was developed and several simulations were performed.  To capture the anisotropy of the inhaled airflow in the upper airways, the Reynolds stress transport model of turbulence was used ...

Assessment of reservoir sedimentation by mathematical model GSTARS3 on Masjed Soleyman dam in Khuzestan Province-Iran

Accumulation of sediment transport volume and reduce the useful life of dams, water storage tanks can be. So far, many methods for calculating sediment this is presented in reservoirs are generally classified into two categories: mathematical modeling and experimental .This study examines the effect of using Gstars model parameters in the model, deposition of sediment in the reservoir tank and ...

Numerical Analysis of Sediment Transport in Sewer Pipe

The efficiency and economical performance of sewer systems is an essential issue in urban drainage. The need for sewers to carry sediment has been recognized for many years. One of the main problems in designing sewerage systems is the sediment deposition. Sedimentation in sewers occurs regularly according to the alternating natural flow. The present study investigates the hydraulic characteris...

Evidence for differential effects of reduced and oxidised nitrogen deposition on vegetation independent of nitrogen load.

Nitrogen (N) deposition impacts natural and semi-natural ecosystems globally. The responses of vegetation to N deposition may, however, differ strongly between habitats and may be mediated by the form of N. Although much attention has been focused on the impact of total N deposition, the effects of reduced and oxidised N, independent of the total N deposition, have received less attention. In t...

The role of air-sea exchange in the marine nitrogen cycle

This contribution to the Spot-On volume considers the magnitude and composition of atmospheric nitrogen inputs to the oceans and then goes on to consider the impacts of these inputs. Effects in open ocean and coastal areas are probably different. Offshore atmospheric inputs may produce a small enhancement of overall ocean productivity and hence CO2 drawdown. In coastal waters atmospheric inputs...
